April 22, 2019 – tomorrow is our 50th Anniversary
Day before our wedding in 1969, we are in Las Vegas with family. Letter from Mom in hand giving permission at my tender age of 18 + 9 months. Must have to be 21 in Nevada to get married…hmm… My so much better half is 24 in August.
Forecast then that we’d be taking photos with family in our 3rd new home, which is now 21 years older. Of course, we lost count of how many times we moved around in our youth. Just for grins, we counted (was it 27 or 47) moving events in California. Ants in our pants doesn’t explain why we liked to touch all our stuff so often. Went from carloads to truckloads. Never, ever want to touch all our stuff again. After being touched by the end of time, wonder if got junk will bother. Easier to bulldoze it down and start over than pick through all that stuff. Ma and I thought about going through all of it during a future winter in our old age.
We had many candidates for “our song”, but five years later, I dedicated a song for Jenf by Joe Cocker – You are so Beautiful.! Takes me away, looking at Ma’s photo. Damn Ma… death is so… permanent…!!!
